KUIN KATOAA JALKOIHIN on runoteos ja esitysinstallaatio, joka hyödyntää runoutta lavastuksellisena eleenä. Ehkä-tuotannon residenssissä Nykytaidetila Kutomolla Aino Kontisen kokoama työryhmä aloittaa yhteisen työskentelynsä keskittymällä teoksen muodon tutkimiseen. Muodon työstämisen taustalla väreilee runoilija Mirkka Rekolan lausahdus taiteen kokemisesta: kun katsoo taulua, katsoo yhtä aikaa itseensä, katsoo ulos ja sisään¹. Residenssityöskentelyn keskeisenä kysymyksenä on, kuinka runon katsojassa herättämät mielikuvat ja tunnut asettuvat osaksi käsillä olevan teoksen lavastusta ja tilallisuutta. Millaisena ja miten lavastus määrittyy ulos ja sisään suuntautuvista katseista kerrostuvassa esityksen maisemassa?

KUIN KATOAA JALKOIHIN is a performance installation that uses poetry as a scenographic element. During Ehkä-production’s residency at the Contemporary Art Space Kutomo, the working group will begin their collaborative process by focusing on exploring the form of the upcoming piece. The form is inspired by poet Mirkka Rekola’s statement on experiencing art: when you look at a painting, you look at yourself; you look outwards and inwards at the same time¹. The central question of the residency period is how the images and senses evoked by poetry become part of the spatiality of the performance. How is the scenography of the performance defined when both outward- and inward-directed gazes are filtered into the landscape of the performance?
